As many folks do, my family supports broad-based, unifying and educational institutions such as our churches and universities.
We also support the arts and conservation.
Specific organizations in these latter areas are comprised of individuals who, although diverse in background, are focused, driven and effective in dealing with complex issues. Importantly, these bedrock organizations understand that sound economics are key to lasting solutions.
We believe in organizations that aim high, are thoughtful, pragmatic, and enduring in mission and stability. Stewards and trustees in the truest sense, and gold standards in their areas of emphasis. In conservation, we feel that these qualities are epitomized by the Boone and Crockett Club.
I personally enjoy hunting, but wild places, creatures, and wildness are the magnet and the balm.
Those with great wealth often have great ideas and broad goals, but our own "habitat" often seems a secondary consideration at best. Understanding mankind's impacts, and focusing on scientific reasoning and education in order to conserve and maintain balance is where the Boone and Crockett Club excels.
The Club is a named beneficiary in our wills, but our ongoing mission is to continue to support the organization and its goals throughout our lifetimes as well.
